Dance dramaturgy is a young research field, both in academics and as it relates to the world of dance, resulting in myths and widespread misunderstanding about the subject. This public interview between Guy Cools and Ruth Little - who have both collaborated with Akram Khan at different stages of his career - is a unique opportunity to understand the powers and limits of body dramaturgy.
Part of a series of talks in the Lilian Baylis Studio about the body in dance and live performance, philosophy, science, medicine, anthropology and the arts, curated by dramaturg and writer Guy Cools.
In January 2013, the first two seasons of body:language talks were published by Sadler’s Wells in collaboration with the institute Arts in Society of the Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts, Tilburg, Netherlands.
