body:language talk Michael Hulls and Russell Maliphant: Body Light

Choreographer Russell Maliphant and lighting designer Michael Hulls have been collaborating for twenty years, creating a unique and distinctive artistic signature in which the dancers interact with the light that enwraps them. This talk will discuss why light is such an elemental factor in creating a performance environment for dance, and how light technology and the body interact in different ways. 

Part of a series of talks in the Lilian Baylis Studio about the body in dance and live performance, philosophy, science, medicine, anthropology and the arts, curated by dramaturg and writer Guy Cools.
